Carole Berthiaume, MBA

Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Equities

Carole Berthiaume is a member of the Value team, is the lead portfolio manager for the Canadian Equity Value strategy and contributes to the management of the Canadian High Income Equity strategy. She is also a member of the firm’s Management Committee.

Ms. Berthiaume has over 16 years of industry experience and has been with the firm since its inception. Prior experiences include positions as Portfolio Manager, North American Equities, as well as Canadian Equity Portfolio Manager and Analyst positions at some of Canada’s leading investment management and consulting firms.

Ms. Berthiaume graduated from the Université de Sherbrooke with a Bachelor of Science (BSc). She later obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from McGill University.

Pierre Blanchette, CA

Senior Vice President, Finance

Pierre Blanchette, the current Senior Vice President, Finance, of Fiera Sceptre, has over 22 years of professional experience, including eight years in the investment management industry. Prior to joining Fiera, Mr. Blanchette was Vice President, Finance, at Air Canada Vacations. Prior to that, he was Assistant Vice President, Management, at TAL Private Management Ltd. Mr. Blanchette began his career as an auditor at Coopers & Lybrand and later with Bessner Gallay Shapira Kreisman LL P. Mr. Blanchette graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1988 and became a member of the Ordre des Comptables Agréés du Québec in 1991.

Sylvain Brosseau

President and Chief Operating Officer

Sylvain Brosseau, the current President and Chief Operating Officer of Fiera Sceptre, has over 20 years of experience in the investment management industry.

Prior to joining Fiera, Mr. Brosseau served as Executive Vice President, Institutional Markets at TAL Global Asset Management Inc. and Executive Vice President at TAL International where he oversaw worldwide distribution and operations. His experience also includes terms as Vice President, Marketing and Vice President, Technology and Operations at Talvest Mutual Funds. Mr. Brosseau is currently a member of the board of directors of Centria Inc., Fiera Axium Infrastructure Inc. and Equisoft Inc.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont and a Master of Science from McGill University.

Jean-Philippe Choquette, CFA

Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Equities and Alternative Strategies

Jean-Philippe Choquette is a member of the Growth team and is the lead Portfolio Manager for the Canadian Equity Growth, Market Neutral and Long/Short strategies. In addition, he is a member of the firm’s Management Committee.

Mr. Choquette has 11 years of industry experience. He has been with the firm since its inception. Prior experience includes analyst positions at a major Canadian Investment Management firm.

Mr. Choquette graduated from the Université de Sherbrooke with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majoring in Finance. He also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Mr. Choquette has won four Lipper Awards in 2007, 2008 and 2009 for two retail funds under his management.

Jim Craven

Executive Vice President

Jim Craven has overall responsibility for the development of Fiera Sceptre’s business within the retail marketplace.

Mr. Craven has over 15 years of professional experience, including 11 years in the investment management industry.

Mr. Craven graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA), as well as a Bachelors of Law (LLB) from the University of Toronto).

Violaine Des Roches

Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs and Compliance

Violaine Des Roches is responsible for all legal and compliance aspects of the firm. She also acts as Fiera Sceptre’s Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary.

Ms. Des Roches benefits from 25 years of experience and has been with the firm since 2006. Prior experiences include positions as Vice President Legal Affairs and Compliance, Corporate Secretary as well as Legal Advisor at leading Canadian financial firms.

Ms. Des Roches graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor in Arts (BA). She later completed a Bachelor in Civil Law (BCL) from McGill University and was admitted to the Québec Bar in 1986.

Jean-Guy Desjardins, L.Sc. Comm., CFA

Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer

Jean-Guy Desjardins, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Fiera Sceptre, began his career at Sun Life Insurance Company as an Analyst and Portfolio Manager. In 1972, Mr. Desjardins co-founded TAL Global Asset Management, and was its principal shareholder until its purchase by a financial institution. Mr. Desjardins subsequently acquired a portion of the assets of Elantis Investment Management to create Fiera Capital which became, on September 1st, 2010, Fiera Sceptre.

Mr. Desjardins is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Société de services financiers Fonds FMOQ Inc., HEC Montréal, DJM Capital Inc., Centria Inc. and Fiera Axium Infrastructure Inc., where he is also a member of the Investment Committee. Mr. Desjardins served as a member of the Board of Directors of Bank of Canada for five years and was elected lead director in 2007. Mr. Desjardins also acted as Chairman of the special committee comprised of the Bank of Canada’s independent directors responsible for the recruitment of the current Governor of the Bank of Canada, Mr. Mark Carney.

Mr. Desjardins is a member of the Council of Governors of Centraide of Greater Montréal, a member of the Investment Committee of the Canadian Centre for Architecture, and a member of the Executive Committee and of the Board of Directors of Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal.

Mr. Desjardins graduated from Collège Mont-Saint-Louis in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1969, he earned his Master degree in commerce (Finance) from the École des Hautes Études commerciales – Université de Montréal. Mr. Desjardins is also a CFA Charterholder.

Merri Jones

Executive Vice President, Private Wealth

Merri Jones, the current Executive Vice President, Private Wealth, of Fiera, has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Fiera, Ms. Jones was an independent consultant for the Canadian investment industry. Prior to that, Ms. Jones was the President and Chief Executive Officer at AGF Private Investment Management. Her experience also includes terms as President and Chief Executive Officer at TAL Private Management Ltd. and as President and Chief Executive Officer of CIBC Trust. Ms. Jones has held a number of directorships, including on the boards of Doherty & Associates Ltd., CIBC Trust and the Investment Counsellors of Canada.

David B. Pennycook

Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President, Institutional Markets

David Pennycook leads the Institutional Markets team and his responsibilities include business development and client servicing for institutional clients. He is also a member of the firm’s management committee.

Mr. Pennycook has 32 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and a predecessor since 1991. Before its merger with Fiera Capital, Mr. Pennycook was CEO and President of Sceptre Investment Counsel Limited. Prior experiences include marketing and servicing roles at major Canadian investment management firms and insurance companies. He is also the Co-Chairman on the Canadian Investment/Corporate Committee of the International Foundation.

Mr. Pennycook graduated from the University of Manitoba with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (BComm).

Alain St-Hilaire, CHRP

Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Alain St-Hilaire is Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Fiera Sceptre. He is responsible for all aspects of human resource management for the firm and is also a member of Fiera Sceptre’s Management Committee.

Mr. St-Hilaire has 32 years of human resources experience, including 14 in the financial services industry. He has been with the firm since its inception. Prior experiences include positions as Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Corporate Manager, Executive Compensation Manager as well as Succession Planning and Executive Staffing Manager with some of Canada’s largest investment management and manufacturing firms.

Mr. St-Hilaire graduated from HEC Montréal with a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) majoring in Human Resources, and holds the Chartered Human Resources Professional (CHRP) from the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines et en relations industrielles du Québec.

Robert Trépanier

Senior Vice President, Operations and Information Technology

Robert Trépanier is responsible for the firm’s investment support functions including portfolio administration, pooled fund administration, performance and risk measurement, as well as Information Technology. In addition, Mr. Trépanier is a member of Fiera Sceptre’s Management Committee.

Mr. Trépanier has 16 years of experience and has been with the firm since 2008. Prior experience includes positions as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Vice President Information Technology as well as Vice President Consulting Services at major Canadian investment management and consulting firms.

Mr. Trépanier graduated from the Université du Québec à Montréal with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majoring in Information Systems.

Art Yeates, MBA, CFA

Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income

Art Yeates is a member of the Active Fixed Income team and is a senior portfolio manager responsible for the management of the Active Fixed Income Universe and long-term investment strategies. He also contributes to the management of the Infrastructure Bond strategy.

Mr. Yeates has 26 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and a predecessor since 1993. Prior experiences include positions as Fixed Income, Portfolio Manager and Analyst at major Canadian investment management and life insurance organizations.

Mr. Yeates graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science (BSc). He later received a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from McMaster University and also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
